Christmas at the Store

I'm sorry I haven't taken the time to update my blog in a while - its that time of year... I took some pictures of my space at the Girl's Back Porch yesterday. The open house is only one day long - it's a week from today as a matter of fact. When I'm done with this post I will correct it in my show listing. Monday I drop off for Blackberry Junction and Tuesday I work set up. I'm not going to get even close to all of the things I want to get made made, but what else is new. Now back to work with me.

Snowman Frames

I just finished making these frames last night, and really like how they came out -my son even wants to make one for his teacher for Christmas. The words are cut from vinyl using my cricut - which is such a fun toy - I mean tool , and the faces are sewn by hand with velvet scraps for noses. I only had four of the larger frames, I wish I had more ,but I got 16 of the smaller ones made. Each snowman has a different face . I will have these at all of my shows and the Girl's Back Porch when I start bringing in Christmas.

First Santa of the Season

I've been working really hard making handmades for the up coming show season. I've been making my grubby spice candles, more cocoa and cider packets (they are just darling this year), candy canes. some collage blocks with copies of antique postcards and I've been fixing up some vintage pieces as well. This afternoon I just finished 6 of these Santas. He is made from a pattern from Bird in the hand Primitives ( I have here blog on my favorites list). I am really happy with how this jolly old soul came out. I'll be making more candle cozies next and I have some fun ideas for snowmen.

I also picked up a new show at Mission Mill here in Salem. I will posting with all of my shows and dates soon. Well I better get these old guys priced.

More Crows

I finished up a couple of more crow projects yesterday and this morning. I still have a couple of more ideas that I will finish up later this week. I made a couple of crows on old ladles with waxed dipped pumpkins - really like how these came out. I also made some larger crows on vintage bobbins and hog scrappers - I really like how these came out too. I hope that they don't all sell so I can have one too. The crows on the ladles will be at Blackberry Junction and the crows on bobbins and hog scrappers will be at both The Girl's Back Porch and Blackberry Junction.

Fall at the Porch

I've been busy making fall goodies for the Girl's Back Porch and for Blackberry Junction. I hope I have enough things made. I will be dropping off new goodies every week at the Girl's Back Porch and several times during Blackberries. Blackberry Junction is in Albany and begins September 18 to September 26. I have a link to their blog on my blog list.
Most of the vendors at The Girl's Back Porch have brought in their fall goodies with more to come this weekend. I took some pictures of my space and through out the store.
If the pictures are too small - you can click on them to make them larger.

Jacks on old bobbins

I've had a nice productive last couple of days. I framed some more vintage flash cards for Blackberry Junction, got some fall stitcheries framed and finished up these fun looking pumpkin Jacks on old bobbins. Each face is hand stitched and I made sure that the buttons that are their eyes don't match as well. I like how each one ended up with it's own personality. I had all of the orange ones cut out and then decided to make some ghost pumpkin one's as well. I got 18 of these fun guys made - some of the orange Jacks will be available at the Girl's Back Porch, and the rest will go to Blackberry Junction. All of the white one's will be at Blackberry Junction. I'm selling these fun pumpkin guys for $9.95 each.
