I have some important news....

As of January 1 2011, I will be the proud new owner of The Girl's Back Porch. The store name will be changing to American Country Mercantile, but Dawn and Char will continue to sell under the Girl's Back Porch name in a space in the store. I will keep everyone posted with more details as time allows. I am so excited!

It's that time again - Blackberry Junction starts today. I will be dropping off more goodies as the show runs - so don't worry if you can't make it today.
Also, Girl's Back Porch is having their Christmas Open House tomorrow (November 13th) - with 15% off the entire store.
Have fun!

Snowmen

I thought I would take a break from crafting and share some of the goodies I've finished up lately... As you can see snowmen are the theme of the week. I made another "batch" of the framed snowmen like last year. This year I was able to get more frames so there should be enough to go around. I finished up 2 snowmen on vintage wash boards, and 5 snowmen in vintage containers with lites.

This light will be $12 and is oh so darling.

Here is another grouping of snowmen. I'm working on the snowmen on the twig stars right now. I try now to say this very often, but they look so much cuter in person. I made 12 different snowmen in ladles and each one is different - some have hats or candy canes and each ladle is different. I also made a bunch of the wax cones and I just love them! They will be at Girl's Back Porch, Aunt Bee's and Blackberry Junction.

Snowman Stu is made from a super pattern by Homespun Hugs and Calico kisses. This guy will be at Blackberry Junction, but I have some others made up for Girl's Back Porch and Aunt Bee's too.
Tomorrow is the work day for Girl's Back Porch, so Tuesday I will be all Christmas ( I will try to remember my camera). On Tuesday Patti and I will be changing our booth out at Aunt Bee's to Christmas - so if you haven't made it down there to get some of the discounted fall goodies it's not too late yet.

Farmhouse Show

I'm sorry I've been such a bad blogger. I did remember to take my camera to the latest show I'm doing however.
The Farmhouse Show is October 21st through October 23rd and is located at The Turner Tabernacle 5605 Jubilee drive and is so worth the drive. It is from 10 am to 6 pm with free admission.
I am sharing a booth with Patti Campbell (just love her and her goodies). Here are the pictures of our booth.
Here are my tarts. I have more tarts than normal because I'm trying out my holiday scents at this show (my favorites are candy cane and nutcracker). I also have candle warmers and lots of jars for sale. These work great for burning these tarts and is a much cheaper solution than buying a tart warmer. Just a reminder, these tarts do not work in a Scentsy burner.
Patti's Green door is for sale and check out her neat sled.
I made ornaments like the pumpkins I made earlier in the season. I really like how they turned out.

Isn't this a great snowman of Patti's?
Here are some pictures of some of the other booths.
This is one of Carol's new quilts - I know I want one.

A little surprise ...

Okay - I'm a little too sick to post right now, but a short post won't hurt. I've got the creepy crud in my lungs and now it's running away with my voice - talk about torture.
Anyway that's not what I wanted to share, I was flipping through my latest issue of Country Sampler and there is a picture of my craft room advertising the home tour issue coming out this March. My home was photographed awhile back and I had my interview a way back too. It was exciting to see a sneak peek. It's the picture under the words " under construction". I only wished my room looked that clean now. My mom suggested I put the picture up in my room to motivate me, but I'm too busy making stuff for shows and the stores to clean. Yippee!

Just a quick note to let everyone know that Blackberry Junction begins this Friday in Albany. I'm on my way now to go and help with set up. I will be working today and tomorrow. I've already heard good things.  Click here to go to her blog. I'm sure she will be posting picks later on in the week with dates and times.

Fall pumpkin tips ?

It's almost time to get ready for fall. I wouldn't try it this way though. I just love the muppets - especially the swedish chef.

Fall is now at Aunt Bee's

Well I spent about 3 hours today changing my booth out to fall at Aunt Bee's. I know it's a little early, but I'll be going on vacation soon and I wanted to get it all taken care of before I leave.
Here are a couple of pictures...

You may notice a couple of "blank" spaces - I'm saving room because tomorrow my booth partner Patti will be moving some of her fab fall items into the store. I'm so lucky to be sharing a space with such a talented lady.
And tomorrow afternoon I will be changing my space at Girl's Back Porch. Don't you just love this time of year?

What a hoot!

Well I just finished up these very grubby primitive owls. They are made from a great pattern by Chestnut  Junction. I made the tags from 100 year old ledger paper. These owls will be at Aunt Bee's tomorrow, The Girl's Back Porch on Friday and at Blackberry Junction of course. I am selling them for $12 each. I love the picture with all of them together. Of course I couldn't take the photos without proper management ....

Thanks Nadia....

Our Kitty Nadia

We adopted Nadia around Christmas time 2008 and we were going to be "good" owners and not let her outside. She has always been a curious little monkey and really wanted to go outside and have grand adventures. Well after about 6 months of living with us she mastered the art of opening the front door (even when it's locked - like in the video). We have to put the  umbrella stand in front of the door at night to keep her in. Now if only she would learn to close the door.....

Primitive Pumpkin Door Hanger

I just finished up this fun primitive pumpkin door hanger. His face is all hand stitched. He is made from stained and painted onasburg. I finished up 7 of these and they will be at Aunt Bee's, The Girl's Back Porch and at Blackberry Junction as well. This guy is made from a pattern by Prims by Kim.  Now on to my next project.....

Just a reminder....

Just a little reminder for all of you that live in Oregon - my sale at The Girl's Back Porch continues until Saturday and I will be restocking on Tuesday (if all goes according to plan that is).
At Aunt Bee's I marked down more items and restocked today. I'm hoping to make more tarts this week (as soon as it cools down a little more), and sometime next week I will be beginning to bring in fall items to both stores.

Cinnamon Pumpkins

I had fun this Saturday making these great lookin' cinnamon covered pumpkins. Let me tell you though I had glue, cinnamon, and sealer all over me - I can't remember the last time I was that sticky. I will be selling these pumpkins at Aunt Bee's House, and The Girl's Back Porch in about a week or so. And of course I will have oodles at Blackberry Junction. Each one is packaged in a clear cello bag with a cute tag to protect them and I'm selling them for $2.50 each.

Broom Rides

Its been so nice lately, I've really had some time to craft. I've begun making my fall items (a little late I know). Today I just finished these lovely ladies. They are all offering broom rides for $1. I made these sweet witches using a pattern from Homespun Hugs and Calico Kisses - I just love making her designs.  These girls will be flying off to Blackberry Junction in a couple of weeks and will be $24 each. I've also made some great pumpkin bowl fillers that will be at The Girl's Back Porch and Aunt Bee's in a couple of weeks. I will try to keep everyone posted of the goodies I finish up.

Who doesn't Love a sale?

It's almost the end of the summer season - so that means sale time!
At the Girl's Back Porch everything is 15% off (except for Mercantile Gatherings and Primitive Place magazines) including my new tarts & sachets - yippee!

At Aunt Bee's I have selected items to be on sale and the are individually marked down. The items on sale range in discount from 15% to 50% off !
I will be restocking both booths next week with new product as well. The sale will last until August 21 and then I will begin to bring in my fall goodies.

New Product

I always think its fun to try new things and I love looking for new things to make. This year I will be selling yummy smelling soy tarts and what I'm calling primitive sachets.
I'm not sure how long the soy tarts burn yet, but they seem to be taking hours and hours. I thought I would be all smart and scientific and weigh one and then burn it for 10 hours and then weigh it again when it cooled and do the math - well it didn't use any of the tart up, so I will just have to burn it longer so I figure out about how long one will last. One inexpensive way to burn these tarts is  to place a tart in a little canning jar and then place it the jar on a candle warmer - it works great! These tarts don't burn so well in the scentsy warmers, however - they just don't get warm enough.
I took a couple of pictures at Aunt Bee's of my new products (they are also available at Girl's as well. The tarts are 2 to a package at Aunt Bee's and sold individually at Girl's.
The sachets come in 7 different scents for now, but I plan on making more. These work great in a car, closet or drawers. I'm going to put one with my sheets so they will give me sweet dreams when I make my bed.

I have 8 different scents of tarts for now, but I plan on making more as time goes by. I can't decide on my favorite scent - it may be Harvest or is it pumpkin pie? It's too hard to choose!

New at Aunt Bee's

Not only did I move into a new and bigger space at Girl's Back Porch this week, I also have expanded at Aunt Bee's House as well. Beginning September 1st I will have a booth partner - Patti Campbell. Her dolls and cloth items are to die for! I am so excited to be sharing a booth with her. Here are some pictures from Wednesday. I will be bringing more goodies on Monday (I think) and Tuesday for The Girl's Back Porch.

I am also updating The Girl's Back Porch Blog when I'm done here so be sure to take a look at all of the great re- do's and moves.
